Our small fundraising group work together to raise much needed funds, for both Turners Hill School and Little Oaks Pre-School, to enhance our children's educational environment and support the school in any way we can.
Our Events and Activities
As a small group of parent volunteers, we hold several events and activities throughout the year with the main aim being for the children to have fun whilst raising money!
In the last financial year, we have focused on ensuring that our events are inclusive, and we have worked hard to keep our costs low, in some cases subsidising events to ensure they are accessible for all.
Amongst other things we have hosted Mother's and Father's Day sales, a Christmas Fayre featuring our very own Father Christmas, attended the Turners Hill Fete selling our secondhand uniform and pocket money toys and have just completed our ‘Welcome back to School’ Colour Run, which brought the children and families together at the beginning of the new school year.
We have created a FoTHS ‘gofundme’ page which at the time of publishing has raised approx. £725 and we have been contacting local businesses for support with school improvements. Behind the scenes, we’ve been busy applying for grants to help fund different areas of school life.
We are open to new ideas from parents and pupils and encourage you to be creative in your suggestions!
Money Raised
The money we have raised this year – an impressive £6911, has gone towards various activities and experiences for the children including; paying for an author to visit the school and share his experiences with all the classes, helping to fund the Maple Trim Trail, purchasing IT equipment and over the summer making improvements to the School Accessible Toilet and creating a new SEN room adjacent to the library. Following in FoTHS tradition each Year 6 pupil, ready to embark on the next stage of their education, was given a Leavers Hoody at the end of the summer term.
We are always looking for ways to generate a constant flow of income with minimal contribution from parents, carers and friends. We have a clothes recycling bank in the car park which raised £211.50 during the 2024/25 academic year. Please do keep feeding it with your preloved clothes, shoes, textiles and teddy bears!
We also have a school Lottery that guarantees a cash prize for one of our players every single week, as well as the opportunity to be included in a national prize draw for £25,000. Tickets cost just £1 per week and 40% of the ticket price gets donated to our school. Visit www.yourschoollottery.co.uk to play.
